RENEE PURTEE ("Benita"/Costume Designer) was last seen as "Mrs. Pascal" in The House of Yes. Before that, she graced our stage as "Sissy Hickey" in TOC's production of Sordid Lives, a role that won her a Mary Jane Teall Award four Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy/Drama. Renee was also honored for her costume design for that play, and won a Teall the pevious year for her work as "Mildred" in Happy Birthday, Wanda June. Since her immigration from Lawrence a while back, Renee has also appeared as "Gertrude" in The Underpants, "Leticia Blacklock" in A Murder Is Announced, and "Hippolyta" in A Midsummer Night's Dream (all for Derby Community Theatre), as well as playing "Margot Wendice" in Dial "M" For Murder at Wichita Community Theatre. Renee also designed costumes for Dial "M", as well as at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. |
