Consignment is proud to begin its 2005-2006 season with the second annual
“Poorman’s Theatre Festival”, a weekend of exciting
new plays by talented local playwrights.
This year’s festival will begin with the premiere of the drama “Untitled”
by WSU Playwriting instructor Jeannine Saunders. The play stars Meridith
Jones, Kenneth Mitchell, and Jessica Carr, and is directed by Troy Dilport.
“Untitled” will run September 8 and 9 at 8pm.
It will be followed by the monologue collection “Zero Population
Growth”, written and directed by Mac Welch. The cast includes Diane
Tinker, Ricki Camargo, Amber Malott, David Bailey, Robert Thomas, Mac
Welch, Cherice Henderson, Rebekah Rine, Bryan Welsby, and Lonny Quattlebaum.
“Zero Population Growth” will run September 10 at 8pm and
September 11 at 2pm.
The festival will be presented at the Theatre On Consignment’s new
venue, Club Tabu, located at 305 S. St. Francis. Ticket prices are $6
for individual shows or $10 for a festival pass to both shows. Seating
is limited, and tickets can be reserved by calling Theatre On Consignment’s
reservation line at 522-4442. The plays contain some adult language and
themes and are for mature audiences.
