NEWS UPDATE: 21 September 2009

Hi Friends,

Due to performance space issues the Board of Directors for TOC has decided now is a good time for a break, so we are taking an official hiatus for a season or so.

As you may know, we have been operating in an “emergency” mode for the last two seasons, doing only an abbreviated show schedule due to the limitations of the space at First Metropolitan Community Church. They were gracious enough to work us into their busy event schedule in order to help us out after losing our space with The Anchor. We can’t thank FMCC enough for being so generous and lovely to work with. Their event schedule was getting just a bit too busy to work around our shows so now we get to take a break and regroup.

We are lucky enough to have two different solid leads on space. Both spaces are currently being remodeled which may take a year to two years to complete, hence the hiatus. We look forward to relocating into a new home and returning to our normal schedule of 3-4 shows a season along with the return of our Poorman’s Theatre Festival for Kansas playwrights.

As of right now we have no time frame for our next full season. We have however been able to work with FMCC in order to do a fundraising show sometime in the late spring/ early summer of 2010. Those details will be posted here when available and advertised in our normal fashion.

Thank you so much for continuing to support Theatre on Consignment. We love being able to serve the Wichita area with the only alternative theatre experience around and plan on continuing to do so. We are very proud of the kind of shows we do as well as the quality of our productions.

We will see you all for our TBA fundraiser in the spring. Until then, keep the faith!
